I see that Linn is releasing a recording of the 1720 version of Esther, with the Dunedin Consort, in May - doesn't seem to be listed here, but that is exciting news, given the excellence of their earlier Handel releases.

Zeus - IMHO you run the risk of SA-CD.net losing its stature as the authoritative source on SACDs by not being proactive about posting titles.

Thanks. I see one can already pre-order it here:

I really enjoyed their Acis and Galatea on SACD.

I don't see a lot of people jumping up and down to pick up the mantle.

There's nothing to stop Linn submitting this title for listing here. Only titles submitted get added to the database.

I get that. But - you are the owner of this site. You have created a very powerful authoritative site, one that is visited regularly and (I trust) earns a bit of change for you - because, among other things, it has the complete and comprehensive listing of releases available, which then can be discussed, reviewed, purchased, etc. If that lapses, then you run the risk of losing the very property that causes this site to be the gathering place for the SACD community. Yes, it is in their interest to do so, but that is going to be like herding cats to get them all to comply, and on a timely basis. IMHO, it is also in your interest to do so, as long as you have the interest in maintaining this site.

For years this site has been populated with title entries that are incomplete and few here could be bothered to correct the omissions in the data. The submission process is relatively simple and asks the minimum required to make listing here more than a stub. There will be those labels that learn to work the system to their advantage and those that don't. For the latter there's always the possibility that consumers will submit the titles on their behalf. In the case where neither happens the title won't be listed. There's no point in wasting space here on titles that the label doesn't see worth promoting and there's insufficient interest from their consumers. I'm sure this will offend some armchair completists but this is the reality with a mature format and plenty of new titles in the offing.

What a bizarre attitude.

stephen, how can potential consumers express sufficient interest if they're not made aware of the release?
