If you would be given a chance to pick only one classical SACD recording, what that would be & why?

Bruno Walter, Beethovens 6th

Beethoven: Symphony No. 6 - Columbia Symphony Orchestra/Walter

Its the first that popped into my head and often pulled from the shelves. Wonderfull music played with feeling.

Russian Violin Concertos - Fischer/Kreizberg - first "proper" SACD (as in hybrid & MCH too) and what electrifying playing + recording to match.

Honestly, I don't have any classical SACD at present, that is why I had raised this question to get your recommendation. I will tally all the replies and later will decide which classical SACD should I get......

Actually, I am not so keen on Julia's performance of the Russians ... they lack true Russian grunt in my view.

Bestus shmestus ... not sure there are absolutes in such things ... . But, if you had to tell me I could only take 1 or 2 SACDs with me, I would probably choose:

Bach: Six Suites for Solo Cello - Janos Starker

or

Schnittke: Complete Piano Sonatas - Igor Tchetuev

Ask me tomorrow, and I might choose differently.

Mozart: Quartet & Quintets - Kuijken String Quartet

This Mozart disc is wonderful music, played beautifully and recorded perfectly.

In fact, anyone who doesn't own this disc should buy it ASAP. You'll be delighted with it, I promise.
