I've looked in Best Buy and the Stones SACD are getting scarce. I've noticed all the SACD are in digi-paks while the newer releases are in jewel boxes with DSM remastered on the jewel box spine. I got the ones I want- Hot Rocks, Beggars Banquet, and Let It Bleed.

I notice that the links from SA-CD.net for Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk no longer lead to the SACD versions--instead the listing is just for the "original recording re-mastered." Hmmm....

That is really sad. I have the boxed set and they rate among the best sounding SACDs I have, despite the age and crudity of some of the recordings.

Going from CD layer to SACD is a revelation.

I just recently ordered everything in the series that I didn't already have. I figure at some point someone will figure out that these are real collectors items. BTW, the very first ones I bought in the summer of 2002 had a little 'certificate' stating they were from the 'Inaugural Edition 2002', anything from the series that I've picked up lately doesn't have that, so they must have had at least a few production runs over the past few years.

mknappe - how did this work out?
I just received two from J&R. Let It Bleed and More Hot Rocks. The More Hot Rocks doesn't say SACD, but is in the carboard case (digipak?). Let it Bleed says DSD Remaster but is in a jewel case and I suspect that it is not SACD. Their website and shipping details both say SACD. Just curious how everyone else is doing with this.

Mine should be arriving from www.elusivedisc.com in the next few days, I'll let you know when I get them. It sounds like your Let It Bleed is the CD, not the hybrid...

Our local music store still has quite a few of these Stones SACD's but beware, while some are touted (using signage) as SACD's some are only CD's remastered using DSD. "Let It Bleed" is one example that caught me out. Some of these DSD remasters are listed on websites as SACD's also. Confusion arises from lack of information.
