Interesting cover, can't quite tell what it is. So, how do you think Pletnev will do with the "lesser" symphonies?

It seems someone at Pentatone is in a very GREY MOOD again! Plenty of REALLY DULL grey stuff on their covers recently! The only nice cover I have seen from them recently is the real artwork on the Frank symphony disc. In their defence this one at least hints at the theme Winter. BUT OMG how boring! I guess it is yet another costsaving RF image.

You may find it boring, but to me it is anything but. That however does not mean I like it! To me the image develops at the right side to looks like something of a gator about to swallow something else. Not my idea of "Winter Daydreams".
Cover art aside, I really look forward to hearing this disc. I think the 6th is wonderful.

It looks like a mirrored image of a twig covered in snow.
Pentatone seriously needs to hire a new graphic designer.

Shure does look like it is. But IMO it still remains a really bad shot. Regarding the graphic designer? My guess is they don't even have one! In these cost-saving times it is quite likely that anybody hired at Pentatone has been out testing his new digital compact camera. For their two first Wagner covers all they seem to have come up with is to turn ONE dull grey shot mirrorwise. Wow magic! Easy done and you have two covers for the cost of one!!

Sure does. The rest of the series are also mirrored images - right? And mirrored images give rise to odd interpretations (like Rorschach and ink blots) such as a gator about to eat something else.
This does not bother me so much as some others here, I think. I hope the coming Prokofiev Violin Concerti has an appropriately becoming picture of Ms. Steinbacher however.
