They are losing support on here very quickly, even one-time aficionados like me have all but deserted them. it's far too risky at £35 a throw!

You can have too many turkies even at Thanksgiving (a nod to my US friends!)

Support here is irrelevant as this is not the Japanese market.

The Handel has been a favourite of mine since its original release. I, for one, am looking forward to it as an SACD. In fact any of the early SEON releases would be good.

But they are imported to Europe and readily available from Esoteric dealers so not totally irrelevant for sure

Not irrelevant at all. While the Esoteric SACD releases may be Japan-focused, they are hardly Japan-exclusive, and the market beyond Japan is clearly a significant part of their audience.

And...I'm sure classical fans in Japan are also able to spot a turkey also (although I'll admit the prevalence of Blu-Spec, SHM, and other standards does make me feel like I should hedge that a bit).

I am tempted by the Faure, as this is one of my favorite interpretations. At around $60 I am more than a bit hisitant to buy it. Bruggen's Handel flute and recorder sonatas were good in their day, though controversial, they have been surpased by serveral other recordings.

Sorry to thread crap, but do we really need to create a new thread for each individual insanely expensive Japanese SACD release?

Yes, please. Your insanely expensive may be my essential purchase - you do believe in freedom of expression, right?

You can still express your freedom in a consolidated thread devoted to Esoteric releases instead of clogging the forum with new threads every few weeks.
