Amazing! I've always enjoyed the performances on this disc, despite the sound quality, which has a bit of a harsh PCM tinge to it.
Incidentally, I recently listened to the RCA SACD of Leontyne Price's Verdi arias, after which I played this Bartoli disc. What a difference! Bartoli's singing is not at the same caliber as Price's was.

Definitely one of the greatest alive, if not the greatest. This is, I believe, not a minority opinion among those who are musically enlightened.

I think we should take a poll of music listeners with control questions to determine which of the respondents are musically enlightened. Can we define what "musically enlightened" means? Such a helpful term in giving opinions!

Universally I do not believe it is possible. We could judge how well studied one is in the classics, however everyones tastes are different. As far as music is concerned it is ALL are opinions based solely on what one historically likes whither they wish to admit it or not.

All I know is that Johann Sebastian Bach fathered 26 children. How did he find the time to compose all those "enlightening" and enduring works?
