Incredible news but I just wish they'd released Sinatra's "The Concert Sinatra" on SACD and of course the two Santana albums.

It's great to have more Billy Joel and the Carole King albums are especially welcomed.

2011 is turning out to be a banner year for SACD releases.

IMO, The Concert Sinatra which was originally recorded on 35mm film and which has an incredibly wide dynamic range and is considered by myself and his daughter, Nancy, to be one of his greatest achievements would have been a natural for SACD.

But let's be thankful that MoFi is continuing their pop/rock releases in the SACD format!

What about the 5 classic Stevie Ray Vaughan albums? No more collector prices (that no one paid anyway)).
Suddenly, compared to SHM-SACD these seem like good value :)
Personally I think 2010 could in retrospect be the turning point.

Only 2 of those SRV titles have appeared previously on SACD. The other SRV titles are appearing for the first time on SACD.

The total number of SACD releases for 2010, as of the end of October and based on data from this site, have increased when compared to the same period of time in 2009.

2009....461
2010....532

Thanks, I realise about the 2 SRV albums. I have wanted Couldn't Stand.. for a while.
To be honest I have never liked the regular sacd of Texas Flood so these could be very interesting!

OMG, I don't have $150 to spend on this, but as a hugely massive gigantic SRV fan I have to have them. I just ordered all 5 of the SRV albums from MOFI. Hope they are good. Merry Christmas to me. Wonder when they will actually be released?

These are very encouraging statistics. Thanks.

I believe it's around the 15th of next month. I have all 5 ordered too, and may I suggest grabbing a copy of his recording "In Session" as well if you can find one at a decent price.

600 new SACD releases in 2010 is still possible.

Are these release numbers (how many SACDs in 2010 for example) for announced titles, or discs that actually hit the streets?
