Actually it is timing that is important, a little jitter is a very good thing for timing isn't it?

Yep - the "littleler" the better

Absolutely, less jitter the better which is why I prefer the Sony XA5400ES.

As for Audyssey, I have yet to read a review in any Home Cinema Magazine that was not negative, same applies to the Sony speaker setup system

What did you pay for your sa8003?

My dad is searching for a pm/sa8003. But they seem to sold out already at most places.

Hello Tim,

Sorry for the slow reply. I paid £500 and have seen one other ex-dem at £500 and one new, boxed for £600.

UK Retail was / is £850 for the SA8003 and £1000 for the Pearl Lite.

In case anyone here is interested in new-in-box Pearl Lites at a very nice price, I have a contact in Singapore who will supply them (the 240V ones) for US$1050 + $95 fedex (that's to Australia - might be different to other places). Payment via Paypal (add about 3.5%, or fees can be avoided if you have paypal funds).

I should stress that I have no involvement in this whatsoever ... I don't benefit from it in any way at all.

* The down side is:
Your warranty is in Singapore (because Marantz require local sales for local warranty - Marantz do not offer a worldwide warranty). and (b) you have to send your money off in an act of faith ... though you will receive a fedex tracking number, so you can follow it ... takes about 3 days to arrive! and (c) you will need your own power cord to fit your local wall plug.

* The plus side:
I bought my SA8003 from this guy ... he is extremely nice, and extremely efficient (I found him on audiogon) and extremely helpful. I have referred him to at least 2 other people here on sa-cd.net who both were very happy too. I then bought my KI Pearl amp through him as well ... at about half the price I would have paid locally. That's a big saving.

If interested, just email me, and I will forward his details.
