Is it your experience that many (perhaps even most) of the discs you receive from MovieMars have cracked jewel cases? I've bought many discs from them, and began to notice that.

They nevertheless remain one of my favorite sources, though, along with NewburyComics (especially good for Telarcs!), ImportCDs, ClassicalMusicSuperstore, and BlowItOuttaHere. (I'll think of others after posting this!)

I've had very good luck with all of my Telarc SACD purchases from NewburyComics - some as low as $2.99 each! My experience with MovieMars was something quite different, however.

I'd been trying to purchase a Blu-Ray DVD of the original, British version of "Death at a Funeral." On my first attempt, the seller shipped the disc from Australia, and when it arrived, it wouldn't play on my player. I don't remember the name of that seller, but after a series of emails back and forth, they agreed to refund my money, and ultimately admitted that the disc was made via a different system than that used in the U.S., and thus wasn't playable here.

I then ordered the same DVD from MovieMars, which, unlike the first seller, is a U.S.- based online retailer. They shipped the disc from North Carolina (I live in South Carolina), and it turned out to be another Australian-manufactured, non playable disc. I contacted them to return the disc for a refund, but they were very, very slow to respond. Not one email was ever answered wtihin 24 hours. Ultimately, they, refunded my money, but never offered any apology or excuse for selling something in the U.S. that won't work here. That's just bad business practice.

A bit off the subject for the site, but all BD's are to the same HD standard but some are zoned so that they only work in a specific area. Australia is zone B where the US is A. Your player may only play A which is why you are having a problem .The funny thing is though why a disc is being sold in the US zone A,when it is not zoned for that country.

I got three of the sacds today--all brand new. Schubert 8, 9, Sibelius, Vanska, and the Brandenberg Concertos/Suites. Thanks again Moviemars!

Now that I see a thread that I started about these people years ago, I now can say they have become the worst company to deal with on Amazon. They now take weeks to ship and are dishonest to say the least.

Movie Mars and Import CDs are thetwo absolute best amazon sellers for price, speed, and safety. Heartily recoomended by

I rarely use Movie Mars, for some reasons my orders have always been slow to ship
3 days minimum, I rather use European sellers like zoverstocks and Momox, they always ship the same day and shipping from UK or Germany to South Africa is a least 1 week less.
From date of order 8-10 days, Movie Mars 20 days

I've had great success as well with the two above.

MovieMars and ImportCDs are my favourites also, both for cost and service.
They even bundle multiple purchases into a single parcel upon request... but they can't lower the 'shipping cost' due to Amazon Rules....

Which allows me to segue smoothly to a related topic:

IF Amazon Canada asks $12 for a disc
AND Amazon US asks $8
THEN one discovers at the last moment that Amazon US wants $14.68 for 'shipping'!

The irrationality of the amount reveals a transparent and glaring distortion of the marketplace, i.e. enforcement of multinational in-house agreements at the public's expense.

Well, just go and buy a SACD that is on sale at Movie Mars. They take forever to ship and then if they do it takes weeks to get to you. Amazon shouldn't allow this but they do. Also, check other sites and you will see Movie Mars reputation has been taking a big hit lately.

Will the Amazon drones deliver for the marketplace sellers too? That could speed Movie Mars up.
