This is the finest Rock album ever produced. I can only hope they do it justice. We play every cut on our stations.

Quadrophenia is by far my favorite Who album. Would love to see Townsend do a MC remix of it.

I read an article that Pete Townsend was working on a 5.1 remaster of Quadrophenia from his own private multi-track master tapes but grew bored. And now that he's probably legally deaf, there goes that.

Well, and the original mix was so unbelievably awful...
By far and away, it's my favorite Who album (despite its crappy mix).
Would love to hear it mixed properly in a surround mix.

Back in the days of quad vinyl albums Polydor records officially kept multichannel at distance waiting for a winner of the format war. The quad vinyl disc died a death and no more was heard. Unofficially I heard at the time that Polydor had a number of albums ready for quad release which never made it to the market. However in the US a couple of CD4 Albums by Eric Clapton sourced from these Polydor orginals surfaced on Atlantic ,others have surfaced as SACD's in recent years. At the time Quadrophenia was rumoured to be a QS matrix disc but only on its initial release version. I did not have a QS decoder at the time but when it was played back through either an SQ or Hafler circuit displayed a lot of rear channel information. this may have been luck rather than deliberate but it certainly fuelled speculation as to its multichannel capabilities

The only release of Quadrophenia which we'll likely see is a blu~ray release of the movie (which I DID enjoy) with a DTS Master Audio 5.1 mix unless Pete Townsend delegates the finishing touches of his failed attempt at mixing the album to another party [which just might happen, but when????)
