I wonder if Rounder is aware how much their out of print SACDs are selling for? Alison Krauss Live is a DSD recording of all acoustic instruments, great music and great playing which really showcases the best that SACD offers. I personally think if Rounder reissued this on SACD it would sell like hotcakes and would go though many repeat pressings. Something I think would be important to any small label, even if they are owned by Universal.

I believe, Teresa, that someone had written to Rounder awhile back concerning re~pressing some of their SACDs and that the reply was a negative ("they never sold well......." or something to that effect.

This is one of the few sought~after SACDs I don't have in my collection and hopefully, maybe Analogue Productions will take up the cause and release this disc or else we'll have to wait until it shows up as a very pricey SHM~SACD (without the mch).

Can't speak for Teresa but I certainly got in contact with Rounder over second hand costs for the these SACD's,Briefly they cited high cost of production (I assume the amount they had to pay Sony) they also mentioned that while a record may sell well on its initial release, subsequently sales will be low and certainly not enough to justify a SACD reissue given the costs involved. Personally I don't buy that since the majority of the work would have already been done. One telling argument which springs to mind is that while there may be fanatical people who are prepared to pay high prices for discs such as these on E-bay once that demand has been met will there be enough demand to merit an SACD reissue Rounder evidently belive not sadly (along with many other record companies)

For what its worth Live album very very good (IMO) it is just different because it is a live album but has been edited to remove intersong speech if you want that get the DVD

Since it was recorded live to DSD with video I wonder if Rounder will eventually release it on Blu-ray?

Too bad their new album wasn't released on SACD (don't care about the video). I would love to hear Dust Bowl Children as captured by the Grimm converter in DSD....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z3rrToim1Cs

Thanks audioholik that was really great, and is the first YouTube I heard that sounds good! It would make a fantastic SACD!

It is from "Paper Airplane" which is available in two different CD versions (one with bonus tracks) and Vinyl LP. Too bad Rounder couldn't see clear to include an SACD layer on the deluxe CD edition which is $34.99 versus $11.88 for the standard CD edition at Amazon.com.

Alison Krauss and Union Station were one of those artists I discovered in the early days of SACD when I was looking for content....and I became a major fan, , buying them all, and even picking up the Jerry Douglas SACD, which is also good. Like everyone here, I was sorely disappointed when Rounder stopped releasing SACDs and I am extremely glad that I bought this while it was still in print, because it a simply a great release.

I will be picking up Paper Airplane on vinyl.....

That might have been me asking. Went back and forth with email a few times, but what rammiepie mentioned above was their response. Too bad as I thought most all of the Rounder releases were quite enjoyable.
