Krisjan - Thanks for the informative review, can you compare it to the Praga issue?

I don't have the Praga and it is likely I will not be buying that one.

John - are you planning a review of the BIS? If so, please include comparisons with the Praga.

Well I haven't got this one yet - I was just wondering if you knew both accounts. Not a problem!

Procliams this recording to be the new reference in this repertoire: http://www.musicweb-international.com/classrev/2010/July10/BrahmsCello_Thedeen_BIS1606.htm

High praise indeed!

"Thedéen's playing is ultimately uninspired, and it left me emotionally unmoved."

"The duo create what is quite simply one of the most engaging, riveting recordings these works have received in more than a decade."

But this is fine. Beautiful. What Music and Art are all about. Awaking feelings in both directions. One man's truth is the other man's lie. Wonderful.

I guess I will have to spend my money and find out which man represents my "truth".

I think Torleif Thedéen is a wonderful artist.

Jerry Dubins reviews so many Brahms discs that I think he is in Brahms overload - he needs to take a one year sabbatical in reviewing Brahms. The BIS is a wonderful SACD.
