I have tried to contact 'Top Music' - the label authoring this disc - several times, but have been unable to obtain a response from them as to how they record, or where they get their material from (copying off CDs or from master tapes).
In any event, according to:

... this was "Recorded at the First Congregational Church on November 11-13, 1991".
If it is a 1991 recording, it would most likely have been recorded at standard CD resolution of 44.1kHz / 16 bit or something similar. If so, there would be no gain from placing this onto an SACD, and so I am a bit confused why this exists on SACD at all? Or perhaps it was an analogue recording ... in 1991? There must be something on offer, or it is just a contender for the scam club. It doesn't appear to be multi-channel either. Anyone have any details?

By looking at the company web page it defenetly looks like scam. They list the mastering system down to the make of the cable, but forget to mention the most important part, the original RECORDING SYSTEM (mics & converter/tape machine) and resolution used. It does not matter one iota if the SACD is remastered with "Isoclean Power Conditioning System" and "Black Rhodium Cable", if the original is a hissy tape or 16/44.1 from the eighties. They rely on the unfortunatelly common misunderstanding that the mystical original masters have some secret content that normal disks can not reveal, but only "we make the only audiophile sound!" slogan companies can do it. Not so. Even a humble CD can contain the exact copy of the 16/44.1 2-track studio master, and SACD a fairly exact copy of any higher-res format.
I am curious who published the original disk. Kavakos was and is one of the best fiddlers around, no question about that, I have met and heard him play many times after he won the Sibelius violin contest in -86.

Yes - Kavakos is an excellent violinist - have also heard him live. Thanks for the DELOS link! Found the source on Amazon as:

which confirms it is an old 1991 DDD recording. This whole thing is looking decidedly icky.

It seems, that for some reason the Japanese and now (Hong Kong) Chinese like to do this kind of rewrapping of old material. It would not work if there were not enough gullible "audiophiles" who think that improving the the container also improves the old content.
Ignorance is expencive.
