I agree totally. I expect the same and when my expectations are not met I buy elsewhere. That is the way the free market works.

Is there a reason why the SA-CD.net listings for Esoteric titles has disappeared? Even if they are not available for sale through any linked merchants, I was glad they were listed here.

They're there. Change the Genre and Vendor selections back to "All". This is probably the reason they're not appearing.

Problems with the Dvorak/Brahms disk:

"I'm reading at Disk Union that there is a problem with the Karajan and that it has been pulled.

Apparently a couple of bars (204 and 205, first movement) are missing from the Brahms, Esoteric are enquiring to Decca and will announce how they are going to proceed.

Customers being offered their money back at DU."

This is a bit off topic, but....................

Well, as to the matter of quality and high performance, you might be interested to know that Michael Bishop has his Sony 777ES player up for sale over at AA, and for a very good price.
Though you may not have any money, perhaps your unstinting praise of MB on these pages would help you in this matter.
The Sony is a far superior player than your Yamaha, and you could get the TF clock reinstalled into the Sony.

Just thought you might want to know, in case you didn't know.

Thanks I looked and it's a good price, too bad about the two small dings on top. I almost bought a 777ES in early 2000 but couldn't swing the finances. I had to wait until December 2000 to purchase the 9000ES for $1,500.

Both the stock Yamaha 1700 and 1800 blow away the 9000ES and at their regular price of $450 were an absolute steal, easily sounding more like a $1,000+ SACD player. Indeed in most performance areas it even beat my $1,700 tubed Xindak SCD-1. At the unbelievable clearance prices of under $100 perhaps the biggest bargain in the entire history of audio.

My memory of the sound of the unmodded 777ES is that it perhaps has a little more detail than my Yamaha's but no where near as warm and analog-like sounding. Couple that with how trouble-free and reliable the Yamaha's are versus the trouble-prom Sony's I think changing would be a bad idea.

Plus moving the internal Terra Firma Light clock mod means sending in both players and paying shipping for both back and forth plus the labor costs. I can't afford it now anyway.

Why would anyone want to buy an old well used out of date player when you can get the latest excellent Sony XA5400ES at a sensible price ? Rip-off TF clock not required.

My post was way off topic, and directed to one person only. That person was not YOU.
