It will be very interesting to see if anyone who ordered discs during this sale ever receives any. I tried to order some discs, but found navigating the site impossibly difficult - perhaps Concord Music was in the process of shutting it down when I tried to place my order - I just don't know.

What I DO know is that often, when a larger company acquires a small one, often the acquiring company destroys all that made the acquired company attractive in the first place. In 1983, BSR acquired dbx, and I was working for them at the time, handling the BSR, ADC and dbx brands. Why BSR ever purchased dbx was a question never answered, as they all but destroyed the company.

When Alpine Electronics purchased Luxman in the 70's, it was the same thing. Luxman suffered terribly under the mismanagement of Alpine sales people. So why then would Concord Music's acquisition of Telarc be any different?

My personal belief was that this "sale" was a marketing ploy to see if people were still actually intersted in SACD's, and classical recordings in general. We'll see over the next few days as deliveries occur, or don't, to find out whether I'm right or not. I hope I'm not.

According to people on other forums the sale prices still seem to be in effect, but you have to put the item in your cart to actually see the discounted price.

It's been several days now and I've had no indication of my shipment going out, nor has my credit card been charged, nor did I receive an email confirmation of the order. Weird.

I never got an email, but I *did* get a credit card check (dunno if I've been officially charged yet, though)

I phoned Concord Music Group customer service this morning. These orders are being fulfilled and will ship shortly.

i'm also getting a little worried about my order, which i placed on june 11...the order is still in process and my credit card has not been charged yet...was it all too good to be true?

Since the confirmation page of my order only marked one of the discs I had ordered as SACD, I sent an E mail to customer services to check. Their reply was "Yes, you are good to go with SACDs". So I assume that they will fill the order and I will get SACDs.

I ordered 36 items from this sale, including 33 SACDs. 22 of them arrived today, even though I never got a confirmation email of any sort from Concord. So, the good news is that Concord is filling these orders.

I frequent 2 music sites and this sale was quite popular at both of them, so I suspect Concord was slammed with orders...

seems that the sales is over... at least for SACD titles
