Those who have heard it and its sister CE595 five-disk changer think they sound every bit as good as Sony's earlier CD/SACD line, of which the CE775 has become something of a classic. I don't think you'll go wrong.

P.s. I have Sony's ES line CE222ES in my main system, and picked up a CE775 used recently...I can attest to its sound quality.

Hello; Yes...it is a very good player (sonically) it is "open and dynamic" in sound, its virtues are that it is just a CD/SACD player with the 5.1 RCA Analogue outputs - simple, effective, has no DVD features, no nonsense inside the box. I compared it to passed-prime other Sony(s) which had all those stupid things like DVD abilities and the likes, and found it to be extremely impressive in clarity of sound, dynamics and micro-dynamics.
Wish they would re-introduce these simple uncomplicated products.
Get one that is checked and working (and do not put your trust so much on internet sellers...)
Myself, I am looking for another one just as a stand-by unit.
Note that it can go bad mechanically at any time; the one that I gave up used to momentarily "freeze" at the beginning of the playing, then would continue by itself after some sort of un-initiated pause-recovery. No technician cleaning would rid it from the problem and to order that arm-reading part was too expensive.
Regards.
