Not yet.

Sent today to Fanfare:

"I read with interest the two reviews of the CSO/Haitink and, in particular, noted that Christopher Abbot's review had the reference to CSOR 901 908, the hybrid multichannel SACD version, in the heading. It seems unlikely that Mr. Abbot actually listened to the multichannel tracks since he makes no mention of the weird and corrupted soundstaging that characterizes the Daphnis portion. For the Daphnis only, the right and center channel signals are reversed preventing the presentation of a coherent soundstage and creating significant imbalances within the orchestra as well as with its relationship to the choir. The Poulenc and everything on the stereo tracks are unaffected. I think your readers should have this information.

After email and Internet exchanges (particularly on www.sa-cd.net) with the producer, we were told that CSOR has offered to recall the discs and exchange them for a corrected release. I, and others, have returned copies but, as of this date, I know of no one who has received a replacement.

Yes, I just got the following email:

Hello Mr. Rubinson,

I apologize for the delay on the Daphnis and Chloe SACD. The manufacturing run has begun, and I expect to have finished SACDs to mail out to you and the other listeners by the middle of the month. Again, I apologize for this and thank you for your patience.

All best,

marc geelhoed

Kal, I am fairly certain that Christopher Abbot is a two-channel only kind of guy.

I suppose that anybody hasn't still got their replacement copies...

I noticed that the next CSO Resound release will be a Mahler 2 with Haitink conducting. It should be out in late November.

Isn't this only being issued on RBCD?

Thanks for the information.
Zeus had not listed it in the CSO Resound titles section when I last looked.

Received my replacement copy today (UK). Sounds a lot better, obviously.
Many thanks to CSO Resound for fixing this problem.
