Unless the page is protected (following repeated vandalism) you don't need an account to correct it.

Besides, it only takes a minute to make an account and it's free.

The page is protected, here is the note at the top of the SACD wiki page:

"Editing of this article by new or unregistered users is currently disabled to prevent sock puppets of currently blocked or banned users from editing it.
See the protection policy and protection log for more details. If you cannot edit this article and you wish to make a change, you can request an edit, discuss changes on the talk page, request unprotection, log in, or create an account."

So even if I create an account I still couldn't make the needed corrections right away, not sure how long it takes to be "not new"? But I could suggest someone else make the corrections who is familiar with both PC and MAC high resolution music files. I am only familiar with MAC music files. The information on Downloading would be correct five years ago, but computers and iTunes have evolved at lot in that time frame.

It's more likely some torrent-sucking 18 year old Engadget twerp with white earbuds plugged into his head 24/7.

There's a natural rhythm to this sentence which is appealing! :-)

This reminds me of a recently (in the UK) reported entry on Wiki, where the age/birthdate of a famous Venetian artist by the commonly known name of Titian was changed.

I have to admit that until relatively recently, I wasn't aware that Wiki is not a source that can be trusted blindly.

Sorry, I just noticed it too. Clearly things must have gotten out of hand, otherwise this wouldn't have happened.

I've been fairly active for two, three years, contributing several articles, so I'm fully aware how easy it is to put things up there, and how some people seem to have nothing better to do than vandalise other people's efforts -- sometimes by subtle manipulation, in most cases in the most childish way imaginable.

I've added pieces about Pit Signal Processing, DSD Disc Format, DXD, DSD-CD and Blu-spec CD, for instance.

Most users take Wiki with a pinch of salt these days simply because of 'little twerps' taking the 'mickey' by just altering anything and everything for a giggle (as they will have it!).

Yes, Really! I actually encountered one very obnoxious "little twerp brat" - actually a near neighbors' 11 year old kid who bragged with a broad grin to a room of adults that he had just been "mucking about" with about 50 Wiki entries, presumably because he had nothing better to do during the 12 hours a day he spends on-line. He thought it to be hilarious...

Any right minded thinking adult has to be appalled by this, not only are ever larger numbers of kids not interested in learning anything these days, now it seems a growing number seem intent now on destroying the fountain of knowledge which they cannot comprehend and so despise, actions very reminiscent of 'burning books'. We must hope that a new dark age is not in conception.

Anti intellectual, anti cultural forces are gaining. Fueled by the intellectual dishonesty called political correctness, a compliant media, and weak kneed politicians and educators, the youngest are their real target; indoctrinate them from the start and you won’t have the more difficult task of changing their minds later. I understand that in England - in England! there are schools where the teaching of Shakespeare is banned because it offends the predominant ethnic group of those schools. Shakespeare banned in England? And the band plays on.

Exactly. Easier to destroy than create, and sometimes they can get just as much of a rise out of people via the former in comparison to the latter.

I've seen people brag about how little they know about a subject. And I've also seen people laugh at the insinuation that there may be anything that sounds better than an MP3 on an ipod.

Well, the troll guy Binksternet or whatever is back, trying to delete the summary of famous artists on SACD. Must be unemployed or something.

Anyway, recently, a summary of famous Jazz artists has been added.
This currently reads as:

--

Notable jazz artists on SACD include: Elvis Costello, Art Pepper, Miles Davis, Monty Alexander, Dave Brubeck Quartet, Bill Evans, Wes Montgomery, Lee Konitz, Art Blakey, Mike Wofford, Carlos Franzetti, Chet Baker, Count Basie, Nat King Cole, Duke Ellington, Thelonius Monk ...

--

If you know something about jazz, and there are obvious omissions, please pop over to the wiki page and add them to the Jazz section, or even just mention them here, and someone can add them.

Ciao
