Sudbin?

Famous last words: NO!! He'll continue with BIS. And SACD.

And the others aren't really "gone". They just changed companies, that's all. And possibly recording format.

Robert,

You must have been asked the question (at least) a million times but are there any plans for Mr. Sudbin to record the 4 Rachmaninov piano concertos with BIS?

I really find it bad taste to advertise for those companies not affiliated with Stephen's site.

I have transferred the question to the BIS thread.

The general aims of this site surely are to promote interest in and the sales of SACD wherever they are bought? It is good to know of sources other than those affiliated that can supply discs that otherwise might be in short supply. For example, I have never been able to navigate successfully the amazon.jp site so use HMV.jp for discs such as Exton & Cryston only available over there.

I agree with FD on this. I suppose I should let Stephen reply here, but nonetheless. Much of the financial support that keeps this site going comes from us using the provided links to purchase discs. Zeus has made numerous posts here about this, but none recently for newcomers. Perhaps a reiteration is needed.
Most of the major sacd dealers that don't have a posted link here have declined, for their own reasons, after being asked to have a link posted. And Stephen has made it clear about not posting about them. And I respect that.

I may not always purchase from the linked vendors, but I also don't post here about the non-linked vendors either.

Of course, one should try to use one of the SACD suppliers listed as I do most (say 97%) of the time. I am certain that Stephen is open to others coming on board in the future even if they have declined in the past, so for that reason alone the door must not be slammed in their face.

BTW, (and I keep forgetting to do this myself) - you can support this site by clicking through to Amazon via this site to purchase anything, not just SACD's.

I believe all the others have been invited, and have respectfully declined. This all happened before you came on board. I could go back thru the forum threads and find the relevant posts and threads, key word being "could".
This particular subject arises from time to time, no big thing.

HMV run a rewards referral program, just like Amazon. Anyone can sign up for it.

I would remind the offer at Zweitausendeins shops in Germany and on their web shop worldwide: /showthread/40295//y?page=first
