I HAVE SEEN POSTS ABOUT GETTING THE BEATLES, RUSH ETC. ON SACD. WHAT ABOUT CLOSE TO THE EDGE BY YES? OR EVEN THE YES ALBUM. IT IS NO SURPRISE THAT PETER GABRIEL HAS HIS WHOLE CATALOG DONE, I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT YES, AND EVEN ROGER WATERS WOULD BE INTERESTED IN THIS VENUE. AMUSED TO DEATH WOULD BE AMAZING-IT DOES SOUND GREAT IN THE Q-SOUND FORMAT BUT....

Well "Fragile" was released on DVD-A but that seems to have been it.

Having said that, I couldn't agree with you more. I've always regarded "Close to the Edge" as a rock classic and I'd love to see "Fragile" and "90125" on SACD too.

I always dreamt about 90125 in SACD - the recording produced by mixing console genious Trevorn Horn (Art of Noise, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Propaganda, ABC, Mike Oldfield, Seal) is a meisterstuck of audio engineering in STEREO and would be a perfect candidate for a 5.1 treatment. Both Art Of Noise and Frankie are available on MCH SACD by the way...

Being a big hit in STEREO the album would definetely sell a lot of "remastered copies" today.

90125 is certainly a great album and, as you say, would be superb on SACD.

I guess we can always dream -- because that's probably as close as we are going to get to hearing any of them in SACD.

I've got "Daft" on SACD and I assume that's the Art of Noise disc you are referring to. However, I wish ZTT had gone ahead and released all their albums on SACD, rather than a compilation. Still I'm certainly pleased I've got it and the sound is superb.

There is Daft and Reconstructed from Art of Noise and Propaganda's Secret Wish on SACD. All on ZTT and all Trevor Horn's pet projects. 90125 was orogonally released on ATCO so probably requires more legal work...

Anyways, it's a perfect album for SACD either in Stereo or MCH.

I've got A Secret Wish, Bang! and Daft all on SACD but then again I already was quite a ZTT collector (especially Propaganda and FGTH) long before SACD came along. Moreover, A Secret Wish ranks very hight among my all-time favourite albums so there's probably no album I own more versions of :-)

Among all Trevor Horn work the album I've been longing for most to hear as multichannel SACD is ABC's The Lexicon of Love. The Deluxe edition of TLoL that Universal released a few years ago (as part of a large series in which various titles including The Moody Blues, Elton John and Nine Inch Nails did have an SACD) was the perfect opportunity but someone must have decided otherwise. I'm sure Trevorn Horn would have been interested in doing it.

It looks like I'll have to resort to ABC's DVD-Video compilation album 'The Look of Love' to hear some of this work remixed in 5.1

Seventh, you got to it first :) I wanted to add that ABC would be my next choice from Horn..

BTW. Is the DVD MCH mix DTS or AC-3?

As much as I am a SACD fan I realize that the limited number of hi-res titles makes discriminating against any specific format simply absurd. As soon as Oppo releases their BD/DVD-A/SACD player I will start my DVD-A collection...

Can you imagine you can actually copy DVD-A's (shhh!)... It's not about piracy but some out-of-print/hard to get titles that make completing your SACD collection so difficult, not to mention inability to make back-up copies...

PS. I wonder if our God, Zeus would be willing to open a DVD-A section... AFAIK there is no comparable to SA-CD.net website devoted to DVD-A's....

Blasphemy! You should NEVER mention DVD-A on a site dedicated to SACD! :-)

Some people have very strong feelings about this... you're hurting their feelings...
It's only a matter of time before they start shouting.

Run! While you still can!... :-)))))
