Since I am a relatively new SACD collector (2 years on) there are some pleasures in this revelatory format that would've escaped me otherwise had they NOT been available in this format. CAN was a group I had never previously heard of. To describe their sound would be reaching. A German prog/rock/jazz group from the sixties thru the late seventies which went through their fair share of internal shakeups, one thing is consistent: NEVER boring! Amazon.com has been a great source to scoop these titles up although one in particular, Ege Bamyasi, which I just received today, is long out of print...and is becoming highly collectible. There are currently 13 titles listed on this website and for those adventuresome souls who are into something completely different, I would advise you to start seeking out these titles before they are gone forever! Sound quality varies from disc to disc but the replication is solid and I treated all my discs with Paul Walker's Ultra-Vivid (including the sides) and no complaints here on my high end system.

I believe these 13 albums are all we will get from CAN. These are all their 11 studio albums, (except for "Out Of Reach" which has been disowned by the band and will thus not be reissued by them on SACD) and two compilation / rarities albums.
Didn't know some were going OOP though...

Just wondering if you encountered any difficulty finding the correct discs - I'm under the impression that the SACD's have been replaced by redbook only versions, and that's what is (mostly) listed on Amazon.

I have encountered difficulty. Most of these albums were remastered for SACD in 2005-6 and of course have the SACD logo in the bottom left rear (by the barcode). CD Universe still has some for $12.49 and one of the hardest to find is Ege Bamyasi (which completed my set of the 13 re-released SACD Can cds when I received it the other day...it was USED but in perfect condition). When ordering a USED or even NEW SACD from Amazon vendors, be sure to indicate that your preference is for the SACD or you will cancel the order (this is after you order and press the Account logo and scroll through your already-placed order). Happy hunting. It was certainly a labor of love but well worth it.

I was able to find Ege Bamyasi last night for $25 on ebay.
