The first 4 Analogue Productions Blue Note SACDs have now been released, finally. They are available at $30 each from Acoustic Sounds, the distributor, owner or privileged retailer (not sure which applies) of Analogue Productions.

I'll wait until they become available from other stores (more reasonable shipping costs)

John Coltrane: Blue Train
Kenny Dorham: Whistle Stop
Lee Morgan: Lee-way
Jackie McLean: Capuchin Swing

I received the 1st four discs of my subscription on Friday. I have listened to the SACD layers of the Lee Morgan and Kenny Dorham discs and the RBCD layer of the Coltrane. Waiting until I have some time to compare the 45rpm vinyl and the SACD of the Jackie McLean disc (this is the only title from this batch of SACDs that I have the vinyl to compare with).

The RBCD of Coltrane sounds excellent. It'll be interesting to see if the SACD can improve on it.

The SACD layer of the other 2 discs that I have listened to sound excellent as well!

The three next titles will be released on April 21:

- Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers - Moanin'
- Art Taylor - A.T.'s Delight
- Fred Jackson - Hootin' 'N Tootin'

Because Acoustic Sounds charges excessive shipping costs ($30 to ship three SACDs to Europe), I'll wait until they become available from other sellers (which I did not do for the first batch), which may take a while. The first batch of SACDs will only be available on April 14 from the regular sellers (see the links above).

It seems that a few copies of Dexter Gordon's "Dexter calling" have "leaked", so this looks to be ready for release as well

I didn't realize there were two threads on this topic and previously posted in the other one. I got Dexter Calling on Wednesday from acousticsounds. I've only listened to the SACD layer but it sounds just as good as the first discs from this series.

I've just received Blue Train, and it's about as good as it gets for a reissue jazz sacd. I also see that these new Analogue Production discs come into general release in April, and for a fair bit less that from Acoustic Sounds.

Claude, do you have any idea when the Impulse Jazz Sacds will be released by AP. Thanks for the release dates on the remaining blue notes and the Nat King Coles (and Smoking' and OST: The Hot Spot.)
