After the success of Depeche Mode remasters Mute Records has decided to reissue in May a box set with Yazoo two albums in 5.1 surround sound, since they are reforming for a tour (I guess will be sacd+dvd-audio as DM):
"The tour is preceded by In Your Room, a 4 disc box set which includes:
- Remasters and 5.1 mixes of both Yazoo's classic albums 'Upstairs At Eric's' and 'You And Me Both'
- B-sides and remixes
- A DVD featuring a new short film containing exclusive new interviews with Vince Clarke and Alison Moyet and the promo videos for 'Don't Go', 'The Other Side Of Love', 'Nobody's Diary', 'Situation' (1990) and 'Only You' (1999)

Yeah, Mute is great, I just can't see why they did not issue Goldfrapps new album in 5.1.
I do not know Yazoo yet but I am on my way to amazon to check them out now. Maybe there is more to come from the in the future!

I, too, hope the releases will include SACD -- if only in Europe. I've bought all the Depeche Mode reissues and haven't regretted it.

Actually, I looked it up at amazon and cannot find anything that indicates 5.1 on the DVD. Only Some live work. Where did you get this information?
Ah, never mind. I read the commentary and there it was. Well, since there are both albums on it it seems Dolby Digital only. That is something I can go without I guess. This is so f...ed up. Why would they release the entire DM catalogue on SACD and then abandon the format. I am so disappointed.

The 5.1 mix is DD and DTS only (no DVD-A). I had this confimed by support at the Yaz website yesterday.

okay. I read on the box it said dts so I assumed that it was dvda. what is needed to play them in 5.1? What is DD??

DD = Dolby Digital
BTW: THis is the response I got from support...
"I've taken a look at the DVD and it's Dolby Digital and DTS."
