Hi everyone,
Could this mean that DVD-A is not actually ... quite ... dead ... yet?
Cheers, Dan

Hey Dan,
I have all of the Fagen and new Steely Dan in DVD-A (Nightfly, Kamakiriad, Morph the Cat, Two against nature and Everything must go) and they are all exceptional. The recordings are all top notch and the 5.1 Surround mix just plain demonstration level (varied and tasteful). A good comprison is Gaucho which I also have on SACD. Many of them were very difficult to fing so I wish I had known they would be reissued as a boxset.
I don't have the Doors Perception boxset but I do have L.A. Woman on DVD-A. The sound is good and improved but the 5.1 Surround mix although interesting is not a major incentive to buy it in this format. It's nowhere near the quality of the ones above.
Eric

Canadian members of sa-cd.net can rejoice...
Steely Dan will be performing for the first time at the 2008 Montreal Jazz Festival. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, March 6 at steelydan.com...
Sorry, I work for TicketMaster so I have to keep an eye out for things like this...
Cheers,
Dan
