Sorry if anyone got excited by the thread title, but I emailed LSO Live! and they said that there are, unfortunately, no plans to release SACDs of Symphonies 1&2. Makes little sense as they released Symphonies 3&4, but ah well.

Strange, given that they advertise it as a DSD based recording.

LSO Live once said they would issue everything on SACD when they could get round to it but sadly they have stopped saying this .... pity was looking forward to Roméo et Juliette and Les Troyens on SACD

They have taken some pretty stiff criticism on their sound quality. Maybe some older recordings just don't seem worth the effort to them. Hopefully they are doing well with the Beethoven and other more recent recordings.
