I am not impressed with Olsen. Don't really care for the Sterling disc.

Well I have a nice home for it.I am always interested in ANY hi resolution recordings from whatever source.
I will pay you the same as you paid.
Luckily I am off to Norway tomorrow (and a few other countries around there)just for a couple of weeks so it might be a nice momento.

Guitarists Anders Molin and Franz Halasz have both made wonderful RBCDs for BIS--any chance that they will make any SACDs? Do you have any new hotshot guitarists waiting to make their BIS SACD debut?

No to both of them. We are working occasionally with Elena Papandreou, who is truly outstanding, and there is coming a concerto disk with her with music by Nikita Koshkin, but that is CD only (but will be available as high-res download).

I pre-ordered this for myself (a trombone/euphonium player) and another as a final gift for my son's euphonium/tuba teacher. However, what I really would have loved to have gotten him would have been Christian Lindberg's tuba concerto, _Panda in Love_. I missed the concert of that (planned to take my son) due to family sickness at the time.

Any chance on BIS recording it (have you recorded it)?

Yes, and no resp.

Oh, man, I forgot about her! I love her CD of Koshkin's solo guitar works. Thanks for the info.

How would you know? And it matters to you because?

I am bringing back a question for Bissie. It is highly possible you already answered to this one, so sorry if I make you repeat it. The BIS thread is so long I could not find your words regarding this issue.

I have just ended listening to the MENDELSSOHN STRING QUINTETS SACD again and I stayed in awe after it finished. Everything is done right! And both pieces are among the most beautiful Mendelssohn composed. The slow movements are unique in their depth. I also kept wondering why these SACDs are not the first in a long series of collaborations between BIS and the Mendelssohn Quartet. I have read your words about being SONY who helped BIS finance the recordings by these quartet. But as I understand they were recorded at Länna Church in Sweden by BIS producers/engineers, I wondered if it won't be possible to begin a series of recordings by this quartet, now auto/financed by the label. Mozart, Haydn or even more Mendelssohn would be welcome, in this level of performances and sound quality. The sound is THE BEST string quartet/quintet I have EVER heard, even better than Prague, Harmonia Mundi, etc. The rendition of the sound of the violins is PERFECT.

So, Bissie, why not more? Juan

Because I happen to know that you did not pay anything for your copy, not even postage.
