Go for it. That seems like a very reasonable way to reduce costs.

But please don't get into digipaks. They look cool, but get damaged over time and there is no way to replace them.

I agree wholeheartedly. Cutting the costs and possibly issuing more sacd's is a no brainer but please stick with the standard jewel cases. Digipaks are way too fragile!

I agree, Robert. Go for the change. Cosmetic changes are a minor thing; the real change is the disc itself.

Hence my question: what would the members of this Forum say, if we were to change to standard RBCD Jewel Boxes, only marking the SACD status through a different colour on the spine, possibly a transparent tray with the caption SACD under, the sticker, and a different lay-out of the Inlay-card?
Whaddayathink?

Go for it!! If it means continued SACD releases AND more money in your pocket, just do it!

I would be OK with even digipaks, if that meant more SACD's. I vote for the change.

Regular jewel cases are actually my preferred packaging, because they are so easily replacable. Since the introduction of the super jewel cases, there have been two different versions, with incompatible inlay formats.

Robert:

By the way, I've been enjoying your new Tamberg CD quite a bit.

Please Robert!!!! Not only OK with most of us, but desired! Easily replaced jewel boxes mean a nice looking collection. The one really good thing about the Super box is being able to piggy back two discs simply.

I like the Super Jewel Cases, but if it means more SACD releases, by all means go to standard cases. As for marking them, as long as there's a SACD logo on the back, that's all I need.

Go for it if this can reduce cost and brings more SACD to the market.

The type of jewel box used is almost entirely irrelevant. Go with whatever is cheapest.
