You can simply buy the other ones!

I don't mind playing the Tjaj vc once in a while, though.

The problem here is that both concertos are very, VERY well covered elsewhere...and there is sooo much superb music that continues to go begging for recording in sacd. I would have loved to have seen the Nielson violin concerto instead, for (just one) example.

But I don't know Gluzman, so of course I will spend the $ and hope to be really surprised, but given the competition on both concertos I doubt I will. Stay tuned...

Nor do I. But like most people on this site I already own a number of versions.

Windsurfer: it´s Nielsen, not Nielson.

Speaking of which: A magazine saleswoman called us on the phone a while ago, trying to persuade us to subscribe to a magazine devoted to classical music. The added value was presented thus: "If you agree to this valuable offer, we will give you a cd of Beethoven's ninth". [I don't know which one.]

What can one say in a situation like that?
"Eeer...I already have five of it"

Some ingenuity on their part would have been a good idea.

Hi Robert,

Just wonder what happened to "Mozart: Flute Concertos - Bezaly"? Cd-universe and Amazon both out of stock for a long time.

Thanks.

That's good, since the SACD has been deleted.
It will re-appear in February, but now completed with the Mozart Flute/Harp Concerto on top of the previous programme, making it the very first single-disc release with all 5 works by Mozart for flute and orchestra.
Playing time will be 82 minutes and the order number is BIS-SACD-1539.
The harp is played by Julie Palloc (with some unbelievable fingers in the 3rd movement), all cadenzas as usual by Kalevi Aho. Orchestra/conductor the same as before. The first version earned Sharon Bezaly the headline in The Times, London: God's Gift to the Flute. It is now even better.

Best - Robert

Thanks Robert. That's really good news! Looking forward to it. BTW, I liked the Kempf trio's reading on Beethoven very much. Is there any plan for them to record more?

Unfortunately the Kempf Trio has disintegrated. We have one more recording with them, to be released late this year, with the two Shostakovich Trios and the Schnittke.

Best - Robert
