How about the orchestral works of Heino Eller, as pendant to BIS's great Tubin series of yore. Probably not a complete survey -- Eller was prolific. Maybe the three symphonies, violin concerto, and a selection of his choicest tone poems?

I am not quite sure about it, but I have a feeling that Neeme already has recorded that with Chandos.

Yes, I have the Chandos. That recording along with Toccata Classics' ongoing integrale of Eller's piano works has whetted my interest in his large-scale symphonic works. Neeme Jarvi recorded a clutch of Eller's tone poems, but not the symphonies or violin concerto. Just a-dreaming out loud . . .

Exciting new batch of BIS releases. I'm looking forward especially to the Martinu cello sonatas and the Beethoven string trios. It occurred to me that the Zimmermann Trio might consider recording Martinu's works for string trio and duo.

Add a pianist (Sudbin or Kempf) to the mix and lets have some piano quartets!

Where do you stand with the Bergen Philharmonic?

More and more titles are coming from Chandos under various batons. Has the maestro59 association terminated now that his tenure at Bergen is reaching its end?

Incidentally, fine conductors as they are neither Jaarvi nor Davis seem able to get the best out of them.

Apparently the Prokofiev cycle will continue, not sure if we will see other releases from Bergen on Bis

Robert,
I see that you have a download out of Thomas Ades' Violin Concerto (Herresthal/Manze). Are there plans to release this on SACD. I hope so, as its a very fine work and deserves a good recording.
David
PS. I love the recent Jacobean Lute Music - thanks!

It already has a superb recording in this one.

Thing is that we only have 35 minutes or so, and the coupling will only be recorded in 2015. Since there are some other versions coming out right now, we didn't want to sit on this tape all that time - hence a digital-only release at this time. With a certain site's pricing principles, the duration doesn't matter - you gets what you pays for.

When the coupling is recorded, it will obviously be released as a regular Hybrid SACD, surround and all.

Bissie,

Any news on the continuation of the Sorabji Transcendental Studies project?
Thanks.
