So again, Robert, Kamu Sibelius. Is it still on target for your dates or will it be pushed back? I don't need someone telling me to do a search for the info.

As far as I know, the release dates haven't been changed.

Robert

Oramo's Nielsen 4 & 5 just arrived for a first listen. I find the sound to be one of BIS' best and the performances similarly excellent. I don't think this is likely to be a contrarian viewpoint on the SQ, regardless of a couple of other comments here. The sound stage (in stereo) is wide and deep and the orchestral color highly detailed.

Am I supposed to read all three thousand, five hundred and fifty two posts before I make a contribution to this thread? I've only read the first two thousand.

Actually 3653, discounting your own (now).

But, being at about 2'000 you're heading for some juicy things...

Have fun - Robert

Actually, I would agree with that, but I am tired of getting into the same tired old debate with Chris and some more.
When he has got something in his head, he has, and, of course, he is entitled to his opinion, as is everyone.

I only restrict myself to participate in that kind of debate, when someone suggests something patently wrong, like that we have an excessive dynamic (if that is the case, then the ARTISTS have an excessive dynamic range, not we) or that we record at too low a level (which of course follows from us respecting the artists' dynamic in that we don't compress, like everyone else, in order to get the average level up and therefore easier to listen to in the shower or wherever). Then I scream in agony. All the rest is de gustibus...

Best - Robert

Timmer: 3654 and counting...

Rest: 5 new releases just up!

All part of the initiation ceremony, old chap. Didn't they tell you about that or the rolled up trouser leg and the fur-lined Grado's....

"Mark Wigglesworth's cycle of the symphonies of Dmitri Shostakovich has been evolving gradually since its beginnings in 1997".

This lovely quote from BIS referring to the new Shostakovich recording... an understatement if ever there was one. You couldn't a make it up except that somebody just did!

Sadly, quite a few collectors would have shuffled off this earthly coil with incomplete collections. I'm hoping the Nielsen survey will be completed before 2030

... hardly waiting for the new Schubert release of Mr. Dausgaard on eclassical:

the last releases of Symphonies 6,8,9 were the best "Schuberts" I've ever heard. I'm addicted to this stuff...
