With luck and a tail wind this sort of crap will swiftly disappear from the Hi Fi marketplace in the current economic crises.

Okay, the Anthony Gallo looked wrong, right? Well here's a presentable package from Steinway/Lyngdorf for those wierdos who drive a Cadillac pickup truck. I am certain that it sounds nice... at US$150K it has no choice.

This may clash with the chippendale chairs but would suit a renovated automobile repair garage.

Why so much hate for the Gallos? With the grilles on they look reasonably normal, actually. And they sound phenomenal for their price.

No hate Fred, just a bit of aesthetic shock (I saw no mention of grills).

No doubt SACDs sound better on the Anthony Gallos than the Steinway/Lyngdorfs: the Steindorf's "digital-all-the-way" gimmick probably wouldn't accommodate DSD; what a silly idea: putting the DACs in the speakers!

(And if you're in the buying mood, the AGs are on sale at http://www.canadianhifi.com/products/detailed/1642.htm )

Now that's strange - I was just saying to myself that I needed a speaker that looked like a telephone handset chasing a spare tire down a steep incline. Kismet!

Judging by their logo, I think the Canadian Hi-Fi site might have a bit of an identity crisis...

Darwin that was a perfect description of the speaker. There is no way a visual monstrosity like that would be in my home no matter how good it sounds! Aesthetically bizarre!

You have my sympathy if your telephone handset looks like that -- but please let us know when your discount-Gallos arrive, if they sound better.

A snip at only $192,000......the world's most expensive speakers, unless you know differently.

Ballerina optional.

You know, I still don't really mind their appearance, but your description is making me laugh - it's embarrassingly right-on. I give up. :-)

Synthy,

With its pants on, it looks like a Dalek in mourning.
