I bought this disk a few weeks ago and must say that it is really excellent, both the performance and the recording as well. Great job Lindberg. Even though the entire program is close to 80 minutes, I have played it from start to finish several times now. And not as background music, but sitting in my living room, listening to the beautiful music. There are not many albums that I can listen to in that way. A friend came to visit today while the music was playing. She immediately asked me where I got it from and asked me to order her a copy as well. The word about 2L is out in Austria :-)

I couldn't agree more - this is a superb release. Music-making of the highest quality.

While Marianne Thorsen and the TrondheimSolistene's masterful reading of Mozart's violin concertos is wonderfully captured by 2L, the same cannot be said about the company's packaging concept.

At least in the United States, the two discs (SACD and RBCD) come in tight fitting pockets inside the cardboard package. But removing and inserting back the discs is causing the appearance of small scratches, which could eventually render the discs unplayable. The only workaround is to get a double jewel case to house the discs.

2L should fix this oversight if they end up manufacturing another batch of this same title. One possible solution was used in at least two of their subsequent issues - the first Dena Duo and Bellezza Crudel - with a proper plastic disc tray glued to the inside of the cardboard cover, à la Channel Classics.

But then, why not just use a normal SACD jewel case in the first place? Environmental concern about the use of plastic is surely not the case here, vis-à-vis their packaging for the TrondheimSolistene's Divertimenti.

This may sound like a minor nuisance, but it does mar an otherwise outstanding release.

...or you could put each disc in an envelope and then put it in their pockets.
