Hey all..
I have started seeing these SACDs announced here. Does anyone know anything about this label/company?? Are these new recordings or remastered ones??
Some of their titles look interesting, so if anyone knows anything about these folks then please let me know!!!

I do know all of these folks because it's me.
Aliud is a new record label recording in DSD for SACD and all titles are new recordings. There will be a lot of new titles during the next few months, so keep watching us.

I have just bought one of their recordings (Chopin/Liszt - Lenaerts) and it does not have the SACD logo, so I must assume it is RBCD. Does anyone know if Aliud have stopped SACD production?

I can now answer my own question after a very helpful and quick response from Jos Boerland.
If I understand correctly this recording exists in both SACD and CD versions. The Amazon merchants are being supplied with the CD version but Amazon are advertising the SACD version with the SACD logo showing. I have checked around some of the UK mail order suppliers and find that some have this listed as CD and some as SACD. Jos says that stock of the SACD is almost exhausted and that he may not re-press that version as he has plenty CD and is seldom asked for the SACD. (I don't really understand the need for double inventory.)
I think it is another case of a high quality recording company at a crossroads and unsure of the best way forward. Aliud titles are currently also available as high res downloads. I think Jos would welcome some unbiased views on what people really want. I have told him that for me SACD in mch is a clear first choice (especially where the recording originates in DSD) and that high res bluray audio is an acceptable alternative with download a poor third. The reason for download being third is the desire to have a boxed product to adorn my library and also that I have yet to master downloading and playing DSD files on my OPPO. (I think the problem is with file format but not sure why OPPO does not see them on my memory stick). I guess I will persevere with that one!
This CD vs SACD problem probably also affects some other Aliud titles and I will try to find out which as there are some others I would like to try. I will post my findings in due course.

I took a chance and ordered the DSD recorded mch SACD on Aliud of Earthquake (the Soli Brass) but e~mailed the seller and told them to cancel if it was NOT an SACD, as advertised.
Would advise others ordering from Amazon to do the same if ordering SACDs from this label to avoid further disappointment.

Stephen, both the aforementioned Aliud title and the one I just purchased from an Amazon third party vendor both are displayed as 2011 CD releases on AmazonUS which would suggest that current Amazon stock is indeed RBCD. Most Aliud reviews on this site date from 2006.
I'm sure third party vendors still have Aliud SACD titles (which is why I e~mailed mine to ensure SACD status) but I would be wary of any 2011 Aliud title releases as I'm guessing they replaced their SACD stock with RBCD.
This, of course, will most likely be on a title by title basis.

Anytime anyone orders through this site and receives a CD, enter the barcode here:
/barcode.php
If it shows up as associated with a SA-CD, let me know and I will pull all links immediately. Recycling barcodes has got to be the dumbest idea.
