Hi Alex,
I had similar problems some time ago but they were resolved by sending an email to Marek Wieronski directly (boss@bearton.pl) and giving him my credit card details. The discs arrived very quickly. Hope this helps.

That's the guy I e-mailed and got no response.

Clicking on Store just takes me to a page telling me they only sell in Poland and asking me to contact them. I filled out the enquiry page and Marek just directed me to the store page again. They've lost my business I'm afraid.

When you get the store page, you will see this:

"Welcome in our internet shop www.bearton.pl/shop"

Click on the link (www.bearton.pl/shop), and you get to the shop. (I've just done it to check it works.)

You will need to set up an account which you can do after you have filled your shopping basket. Do persevere as the discs are well worth having!

Well, I got a different level of service - I wanted to order the Szymanowski orchestral SACD from Bearton, when I tried to register, the link in the e-mail they send merely opened their site with the message 'registration failed'. When I e-mailed them I got no response. So that's a sale they've lost, sadly.

Hi Alex,
Have you tried to login "My Account"?
http://www.bearton.pl/sklep/konto.php?lang=en&value=USD
I had the same problem (registration failed) but I was able to login "My Account" and purchase some SACDs from Bearton last week.

Thanks for the review, Beagle. A wonderful disc, as you say. The Szymanowski I thought particularly good - great playing. Scrumptious music.

Hi everybody!
I am so glad almost everybody likes the quartett SACD from BeArTon! especially since I made it :) There's another one out however, with a piano quintett, performed by the same, very good RSQuartet and the pianist is Wojciech Switala.
So far I see no comments on this disc. I wonder what would you say about it?
As for the store: I had no problems entering the store, however I found the link to it placed rather cofusingly on the page www.bearton.pl/store.htm and the link itself being www.bearton.pl/shop.
The information about no outlets outside Poland I presume was to say that outside Poland there is not an authorised reseller except the Bearton store....
And the store or shop as you may should call it works fine to checkout point... of course I never tried to buy anything there :)
Good luck!
Julita

Julita,

Bravo/Brava! for 2 most-excellent discs!

I have comments on the Zarebski -- but I haven't had enough spare moments to post them. My review of vol. 1 started as a Recent Listening discussion of both discs, but I got too enthusiastic about the first disc, and never got to the second.

Volume 2 in short form:
Zarebski was Liszt's favourite student, and continued the Chopin-Liszt tradition up until his early death from Cholera in Istanbul/Constantinople, fighting on the Turkish side against the Russians aka Oppressors of Poland.

The Quintet is indeed a worthy work, and improves with each listening. 'Les Roses et les Épines pour piano' is a thoroughly-pianistic tour de force in keyboard coloration -- a must-have for piano-holics. The Grande Polonaise is just what it says it is (and maybe a good mystery-item with which to confound your friends who think they know their piano repertoire... they'll go mad trying to pin it to Chopin or Liszt).

That's it, gotta get back to work!

Thanks for this detailed info! As you see I am not a frequent visitor here...
I myself have a mixed feeling towards the music of Zarebski. However I find it a good choice for a record.
Unfortunatelly nothing new of BeArTon for a while!
Greetings from Poland,
Julita
