I was really lucky and purchased this in Lausanne while on vacation in Switzerland. I was going to recommend it to a friend but noticed that it is not "currently available" from Amazon.com, nor from CD Universe, nor from Amazon.co.uk In fact, while apparently in stock at JPC, it doesn't appear to be available from any of the Amazons.
Anyone know what the problem is? This is a superb recording! If it is going to become hard to get, believe me you should obtain it now from JPC!

I was going to get this some time ago, but held off when I couldn't find from any source what Marta Argerich was playing in it. Prokofiev 7 would be ideal for her, but with the ambiguity of the advance publicity, I suspected she would only be playing in a couple of works. This has happened also in her EMI chamber music discs, where she is not the only pianist in the bunch. Now I gather the young Russian is the soloist in the Prokofiev.
At least in the upcoming disc of the Ravel Piano concerto on Capriccio, one knows what Marta is going to be playing.

Marta is featured only in the arrangement for two pianos of the Classical Symphony. Don't let that dissuade you however. Leschenko can stand on her own exceedingly well! I rank this among my personal favorites, (of chamber music) right up there with the Mendelssohn Trios from PentaTone and the Bartok Unaccompanied Sonatas played by Annar Folleso. The piano sound is spectacularly realistic and the playing sublime!

I hadn't found this disc when this thread was started, so I couldn't comment before.
But to Ramesh: despite the fact that it is Leschenko, not Argerich, in the Sonata, this disc is still a winner.
As I'm sure you know, Argerich has developed quite a reputation in chamber music. But a lot of the time the recordings that have been issued haven't lived up to the hype. The Symphony in it's piano duo arrangement, however, is one of those instances when Martha is at her most inspired and where she makes her partner achieve things she had probably previously only dreamed of: the phrasing is magical and the two instruments sing as one. This is the true magic of Argerich and is definitely one of my most treasured discs!

Possibly true, what you say about Argerich making her partner achieve things she had probably previously only dreamed of. One may speculate...
However your last statement "....and is definitely one of my most treasured discs!" That one resonates with me. For sure, this is one of my most treasured discs as well.

Thanks all. Received this disc about 10 minutes ago, but now I have to go to work.
With the numerous comments on DXD in the 2L Mozart concertos disc, I note that the inside of the back cover of the Prokofiev booklet states that this disc was also recorded in DXD.
