There are instructions and it's very simple. I put them on my Oppo 93 but it is only a bit of extra insurance, may not be needed but the mat is very light and could get left behind by the tray! I will be very interested to hear how you get on. Use private email if you don't want to post again. Also please tell me why it works!

Not sure what you mean, I will have the whole weekend to try it out and see if I do hear any difference. I use to use a mat years ago, forgot the name but I did hear a difference with that in a good way.

I just looked at the tray on the Oppo 95 and there seems like there is only 2 small place at the back of the tray that you could put the bumper but only has an clearance of maybe an 1/8 of a inch.

Sounds like the same tray as on the 93. The 'bumpers' are very thin and quite small in diameter and will fit fine. They are just enough to stop the mat from being left in the machine when the drawer opens.

I meant that I would be interested to hear how much of a difference the mat makes to your system. There are those who would say that it can't make any difference - but to my ears it does.

I will definitely tell you and whoever else interested with my finding. I have a good feeling about this Mat. Can't lose, you have a 30 day trial period.

Anyone who has an OPPO and the Marantz SA112s should definitely, unequivocally try this godsend of a tweak. If one cannot hear and see the difference I would heartedly suggest you take up needlepoint, instead!

{and if you like the damper then try the Ultra Vivid Polish......equally BRILLIANT and it will NOT in any way damage your discs and can also make a MAJOR improvement on BD discs, as well}!

Ralph, what does this warning mean as most SACD are gold tinted? This has been lifted from an advert on Analogue Seduction website for reference...

"Walker Audio Ultra Vivid CD/DVD Enhancer is safe to use on regular SACDs. There are a very few SACDs that have a gold external tint. These SACDs specify that no cleaner should be used on them. We recommend that you not use Walker Audio Ultra Vivid CD/DVD Enhancer on these."

Chesky also use to have that warning but I've treated them anyway. I went so far as to use Mapleshade Polish on them before applying the Ultra Vivid and those discs which were treated 5 years ago still play perfectly fine.

As specified, treat the sides of the disc as well (I only do that once) and the playing side twice...this also applies to BD which will exhibit better sharpness, contrast and especially a sonic revelation .... just try it before and after. No damper, no polish........and then try it with. On a perfectly calibrated TV monitor and especially via projection the difference is quite dramatic.

Just received my first 'PURE' DSD SHM~SACD from CDJapan.......Hiromi's" Voice" (On the Telarc label). Do not attempt to treat SHM~SACDs as they are somewhat brittle and will crack .........But the amazing thing about these discs.....they sound utterly amazing untreated......I just demagnetize them and place the damper atop and they sound incredible. WISH ALL SACDs sounded this good out of the box.........

Just ensure that you use the enclosed "bumpers" to keep the mat from sliding into the transport.

The only thing I'm worried about with these bumpers are: is the adhesive strong enough to hold it in place and not come lose and get lodged in the transport.

I tried one of the Marigo mats in my Marantz SA11s2 and the results were truly excellent when the mat stayed in place, but, and it was a big BUT, more often than not the mat slipped off the disc when the tray closed and fouled up in the mechanism with an awful noise. This happened with both two and four bumpers in place, and seemed to be because of the tray topography of the SA11s2 - the recess is significantly larger in diameter than a CD and additionally has bevelled edges. It was with great regret that I had to return the mat for a full refund.

I shall be really interested to hear of the experiences of other SA11s2 users, and any tips as to how to get the mat to stay in place consistently.

In response to hooperthom's enquiry, the bumpers stick fast - my problem was to get them off!

If a player is properly designed, arguably you wouldn't need tweaks, since tweaks are intended to make up for design deficiencies. I think that is tautological, but am open to other opinions.
