HDTracks is offering digital download, Flac 24/96Khz at a very good price with a 15% discount today, stereo only Steven Wilson remix.

Amazon sells the Blu Ray surround sound package for over $150.00. I don't like Jethro Tull that much.

Anybody have experience with the stereo?

It's your money, so feel free to do what you want with it.

Frankly, most JT titles bore me with all their existential angst and whinging of long dead issues. They are products of their time.

Not sure about your answer.

I can only assume you have no experience to my question.

The first line is obvious to me, it is my money, guaranteed.

The second line I don't care if you like Jethro Tull or not.

Geez! Some people.

Sorry to others reading but, sometimes, after this maybe better for the lightning bolt to just zap this thread.

Hi Marpow,

This title is being discussed on the computer audiophile forum. Some folks have listened to it and you should find some useful feedback in a couple of the music related forums.

Time to improve your reading comprehension skills. It will serve you well in the long run.

I've listened to most JT titles and my response represents the consensus of opinion of them. My response is merely the tip of the iceberg.

Learn to not be so defensive in your posts. It reflects badly on you.

Mark, if you haven't heard Steve Hoffman's out-of-print DCC Gold CD of Aqualung, get in touch with me via LinkedIn and I'll make it available to you. The DCC CD sounds uncompressed and very good to my ears. Could be a good comparison to the Hi-Rez download.

I think Jethro Tull is definitely worth listening to, and
more than once.

Mark -if possible, I'd love to hear the much-vaunted DCC version too; I have the Steve Wilson remix version and it sounds great. I see that there is now a Steve Wilson 'remastered' version as well. From what I understand, previous versions (before the remix) had serious SQ issues.

I'm on a work detail overseas now, and don't have access to wither the linkedin or the vimeo website you li?st here. If not too much trouble, could you PM with me a link too (possibly dropbox)?

Thanks very much!

Lunna: are you the Alex G----- on Facebook? If so, I'll contact you that way. SA-CD.net doesn't seem to have personal messenging unless users post an email address or social media site.

Marpow: I'm located near you, in SF. Feel free to contact me via FB or LinkedIn. On LinkedIn, I'm the contract video producer at UCSF.

Thanks Bob and Mark for your helpful info.

I went onto the computer audiophile site and read just about up to the minute dialog of Aqualung and HDTracks, very helpful.

Then I went and scoured the DR list. The good news it seems Aqualung was recorded well and re released very well over the years. Actually not a bad one in the bunch, overalls of 14 and 15. Amazing for a rock music release.

I am convinced that the Steven Wilson remix, stereo, of Aqualung via HDTracks would be a good purchase.

I am going to hold out a bit however to see if I can score a used multichannel and to see what Mark has to say after we talk about the Gold disc.

Thanks for all your help.

Mark, I resisted the pricey Aqualung box set but was patient and did find one for $70 (delivered price) from ImportCDs in California. Was worth the wait...and expense.........the BD~A mch of Aqualung is superb in every way. Just floats out of the speakers and surrounds you.

Patience, my man. You've got plenty of music to spin ....... in the meantime!
