I completely agree. Excellent disc. I had to dig mine out. Thanks for reminding me of it. :)
Beautiful remastering of this wonderful 40 year old recording. Perhaps it doesn't quite have enough bloom in the louder moments, but the more solemn passages have a pleasing intimacy. The main point for me is how satisfying this music is performed on an organ.

Yes. His excellent use of registers adds some needed variety that a piano or harpsichord can't approach. Of course, a monolithic sound can have its advantages, too!
