Were any of these originally 3-channel recordings?

Most if not all of them were, and were released as 3-channel DVD-Audio discs from Classic Records (Stereo in 24/192, 3.0 in 24/96). Most of these HDAD discs are available more cheaply than these new Japanese releases.

Acoustic Sounds used to have a great deal on all Classic Records HDAD titles (purchased as a bundle for a fraction of their original cost) but don't know if they are still offering this "deal."

IMHO, I have most of them and can attest to their sonic brilliance.

Addenda: They are offering 17 HDAD Everest Titles (96/24/192/24) as a bundle for $299. Each title contains 2 discs for a total of 34 discs (RBCD included as well). Visit Acoustic Sounds website and type in DVD~A and then Classic Records and ALL the Classic Records DVD~As/HDADs (3 pages) will appear.

Thank you, Ralph! That's great to know!

Acoustic sounds is really unloading the Classic Records releases generally - they've been selling 9 DAD and 3 HDAD releases as a bundle for $29.99 total.

As you may know, Acoustic Sounds purchased Classic Records and is unloading them at bargain prices just to rid themselves of their existing inventory.

They're in very limited supply.........so make a move soon.

Yes - I have almost all of the Classic Records Everest HDAD's. The only trouble is that most of them are affected with small pitch vagaries which pop up from time to time (maybe 3-4 times on per album on average). When the HDAD series stopped, Bernie Grundman had the Krips Beethoven Symphonies already remastered, but these remasterings were released only on vinyl, not HDAD.

Can you be more specific, Chris, as to what HDAD titles you experienced these pitch variations.

I have almost ALL of the HDAD discs including Close Encounters and Casino Royale and as played on my Meridian 808.2, they sound simply stunning.....including the Everest Classic HDADs.

Do you think it has anything to do with they're being dualdiscs?
