What a way to hear this music!
AF did a stellar job with this release. Boy...am I sure glad they got into the surround biz!
Can't wait for their next Mch release. Keep them coming!!!!!

This one has been out for a while. I was just slow in picking up a copy.
According to Ralph over on The Rock Thread, there's been a delay at the pressing plant in Austria.

The one pictured above IS available and has been for months and it is my pick for multichannel disc of the year in Rock/Pop....Steve Wilson's 5.1 Remix of Songs From The Big Chair being a VERY close second.
The second BS&T album and the Best of the Guess Who QUAD SACDs will be delayed until late January.
BTW, Brett, did you enjoy this album.....and play it loudly distilling the solemnity of New Years Day in Tokyo, Japan!

I love it!
The music might not be to everyone's taste. But as for me, I am just tickled pink that we've got this wonderfully funky, experimental album from the late 60s in surround. Believe me...it's cranked!! Oh behave! :-D
I was glad to see this Mch SACD got positive reviews over on amazon as well.
And...Tokyo was also waking up to a little Styx: Paradise Theater. Completely agree with your review. There's no need to pay double for the other SACD. This one rocks and at a discount to boot. LOL!!!!

Hope you have the second BS&T and Guess Who QUADs on order, as well, Brett. They're really going to be special as will the rumored upcoming AF QUAD SACD of Best of Bread: Baby I'm A Want You...........
Will probably watch the original La Cage Au Folles tonite (Criterion BD~V).........Ever see the second one.....equally hysterical although it wasn't as well received as the first.

I haven't seen La Cage aux Folles II yet. I'll definitely do a search for that one. The original is truly a classic. Heck, I even enjoyed The Birdcage. Even if Robin was a little flat, Nathan Lane made up for it. And it was hilarious to see Gene Hackman in drag. Beautiful!!! :)

Jacques Tati's Mon Uncle and Mr Hulot's Holiday are sheer classics but I've yet to see Playtime (which I also have as a Criterion BD~V).
Do seek out La Cage II and I think you will absolutely LOVE it. What do the critics know?
And do seek out Il Sorpasso....there's a lot more going on than meets the eye if you know what I mean.
Have you played the Trey Anastasio DVD~A yet? Great album.

I've got Trey playing now. The ballad Flock of Words shows off the warmth of this recording to nice effect.
I just watched a few clips of Il Sorpasso on youtube. Looks interesting! I can see the connection to Easy Rider. It also reminded me of my experience driving on the narrow, winding road over looking the gorgeous Amalfi Coast south of Napoli. Gotta love those Italian drivers! Even the local bus driver looked like he was driving a Ferrari around those hairpin curves (...Dead man's curve ;-) I should have brought along a little Jan & Dean. LOL!
Are you going for any of those new Beach Boys reissues? I was tempted... I had my hands all over them the other day. There was even a 6-disk box set. But, I decided to wait. The weak yen was making them feel awfully heavy.

You are right. Child Is Father to the Man is Al Kooper's original vision for Blood, Sweat & Tears - pre David Clayton Thomas. So it's a bluesy rock album vs. the jazz style we heard in the later Blood, Sweat & Tears releases.
Enjoyable but it may not be for jazzy BS&T fans.
