I can't wait to add more Ralphie Goop all over the place. Because when you have a awesome sound system and you make it more awesome everything sounds better.

RIGHT ?

Undeniably so.

Works EVERY time.

Apologies for going waaaaay off topic, but I've ordered Beyonce's eponymous album on CD+DVD as recommended by Ralph and I couldn't remember in which thread he mentioned it.

I went for the DVD version so I can rip the 5.1 soundtrack for playback from my PC, but having now seen some of the videos, maybe I should have ordered the blu ray version, or the 3-D version if it exists for that added je ne sais quoi :)

I'm afraid you'll have to go for the bluray version too as the DVD does have only the stereo soundtrack, not 5.1 program present. Besides, the videos worth the value of the combo theirself.
;)

Doh!

I've sent a message to the seller requesting to cancel my purchase as the CD+DVD hadn't been posted and will order the blu ray version instead. If nothing else, the visuals will be much better anyway :)

Lots of sites showing signs of reissues, not sure of format other than remastered box sets.

Including Pet Shop Boys, as a metal head, I hate to admit I love the song West End Girls.

Also, CDJapan is releasing 1000 titles of your favorite rock music in the Blu-Spec CD format. I have purchased a few of these, some come across great and some are no worse than an RBCD. It looks like the price range is 12-18 US dollars but you also get 15% rewards points instead of usual 10%. They come in versions of cardboard mini LP's and plastic jewel case.

So, you love The Pet Shop Boys, but have a problem with Depeche Mode. What gives!? LOL! (Just kidding ;-)

Even our own New York City Boy is a big fan of Depeche Mode. (eh Ralph?)

Go and track down a reasonably priced copy of Depeche Mode: Violator. There are even cheap DVD versions floating around. You and your Valentine girl will love it.

Nothing to be ashamed of: "West End Girls" is one of the best pop songs of the 80s, IMO.

Thanks for the heads~up on the Blu Spec reissues, Mark.

Also of note, the SHM~CD ECM reissues at bargain prices.

Brett, you must buy the Pat Metheny Group As Falls Witchita, So Falls Witchita Falls and Steve Kuhn: Ecstasy (solo piano).

Two gorgeous, new agey but jazzy albums, impeccably recorded!

I have long been a huge fan of PSB. West End Girls still sounds fabulous. In the 80 and 90s, they recorded so many amazing songs and albums. I loved Bilingual so much. I must have worn a whole in that disk I played it so many times. :-D But, I must admit that I kind of drifted away from them around the turn of the century. I have heard rave reviews of their more recent album Electric. I'll have to get a copy of that.

I guess my lame attempt at humor fell flat on its face. LOL! ;-) I only meant to encourage Mark to get Depeche Mode on SACD. If he wants to hear some out-of-this-world surround mixes, he need look no further than Depeche Mode: Violator or Depeche Mode: Music For The Masses or... Heck get them all!

Oh man! How I wish we could get some PSB in surround!
