Discussion: Handel: "Piano" Concertos 13-16 - Kirschnereit

As much as I love these concertos performed on an organ, I have become completely smitten with these delightful performances on piano. It just goes to show that it's not only Bach's music which is open to alternative versions.

Pianist Matthias Kirschnereit is completely at home with these works. He makes them sound as if they were originally composed for a piano. Deutsche Kammerakademie Neuss under the direction of Lavard Skou Larsen provide ideal support. The multichannel recording is excellent with the piano slightly forward.
