The full album download, and individual tracks of Fernando Sor Guitar Sonatas, first previewed on the free Just Listen advanced recordings page of nativedsd.com, is now available.

This album was originally recorded at 256fs using a Merging Technologies Horus. It was minimally mic'ed by label owner/producer, and engineer Gonzalo Noqué, and is available in both stereo and 5.0 multichannel.

Due to the file size of the 258fs DSD multichannel, it will be available on a USB thumb drive.

Just listed on amazon.de (though with no availability as yet). If you add this to your wish list you'll be able to check for availability and pricing as it propagates to other amazon sites in time.

In what country? Search in UK and US only brings up MP3 versions

Oh, Gallén is a fine player, no question. I do wish he had used a modern guitar, as I prefer their more robust sound.

Would that be similar to the differences between pianoforte and a Modern Steinway Model D?

Why don't you listen to the MP3 samples and judge for yourself?

Taking a look at the reviews and comments about the sound quality, I would reflect that solo acoustic guitar has to be one of the easiest recording subjects. The sounds are not complex like a multi-instrument or multi-voice ensemble. where harmonics interact and DSD shows its advantages best. Solo violin and piano are also more difficult to get "right" or at least pleasing.
