I guess the 4 people who didn't like this felt that its playing time of 22 minutes is a bit short. Seeing what's going on with 4K, who can blame them. But the mono sound is very good.

I voted to recommend this despite the short playing time. Sound quality wise, I feel that the AP other releases on the same artist has the edge over this one.

It got my recommendation as well. This is my first venture into these Elvis SACDs. Glad to hear they get even better. I suppose the others have an edge since they are in stereo. Would that be a fair guess? Or do you prefer AP's sound?

I was one of the initial complainers regarding the 22 minute run time of King Creole but have since cranked up the disc and it does sound pretty amazing.

That sounds like two strikes against this, good as it may sound: (1) it could have sounded better (like the AP discs), and (2) twenty-two minutes - whatever was AF thinking (I know, the original album was that short, but please ...)

If AF priced it at $19.95 List, would've been a better deal.

IMHO, it's worth buying, nonetheless, if you're an Elvis fan.

It's short, it's MONO but cranked up on my Marantz SA11S3, it sounds wonderful!

Elvis IS in the building.

It's really the AP sound that gives it just the right amount of air and the feeling of being there at the time of recordings (or at the very least at the monitoring room). You are probably correct that the main difference could be in mono vs stereo. True to the source, I think the AP version is as close as we can get to the analogue master tape sound.

This does not alter the fact that the mono version is still good hence my recommendation. We should not merely judge the disc based on the playing time alone.

I love what AP has been doing with their jazz SACDs. I just got a handful on sale. Amazingly warm sound. Look forward to listening to more of Elvis in such natural sound.

THE best, IMHO! And ORG (what few they released) on equal parity!

Is the sale still going on, and if so, where? I'm a fan of their jazz SACDs as well ...
