Now this is interesting.

I used to have a pristine pressing of the original LP from the early 1960's that I paid over £75 for in 1995.

Performance and sound quality of that LP was and probably still is, stunning. The collector I sold it to, was just as meticulous as I was in maintaining the quality of anything in my collection.

Let's hope AP do this well when it's finally released during the upcoming summer.

BTW it's multi-channel, as well.

EDIT: LP will be released 17/06. Probably SA-CD will be concurrent to that.

The first SACD from early 2000s release left a lot to be desired. This one has huge potential to do much better. Would you say it's really done based on the three tracks analogue master tape?

Yes, the new one is The Complete Concert - including 3 tracks not released before on any format.

It is from the 3 Track Analog Master Tapes. And better sounding than the RCA HK Stereo SACD released years ago.

The entire concert is on the SACD. The 2nd disk is a redbook containing what wouldn't fit on the CD layer of the SACD. So, playing time is around 110 minutes. Pretty nice. No disk changes unless for some odd reason you play redbook.

I couldn't have said it any better, Brian. An OUTSTANDING Disc!

Folks, please help me - two releases of this concert, one on sacd and the other with hdtracks, mastered by a relatively new mastering engineer. Leaving aside the price difference, can someone please advise which way i should go with this. for now, i don't have three speakers, so i'll be listening in stereo, but in the future, you never know ....

That's an easy question to answer. Ask yourself, who has the better track record when remastering is involved?

I certainly wouldn't trust HDTRACKS of this.

Alex, Analogue Productions hit a HOME RUN on both this remaster and the Tony Bennett Live At Carnegie Hall SACD (despite the intrusive applause). The dynamic range is to die for.

Well worth the long wait!

This IS the complete concert.
