I had one many years ago, it was my first SACD player. I wasn't impressed by the sound. Rather sterile and undynamic.
The early Sony SACD players are problematic because the laser assembly tends to fail, showing increasing problems in reading the SACD layer of hybrids. The replacement of the laser assembly is a $300 repair, or $50 if you order the part in Asia and replace it yourself.
