For anyone interested in some harpsichord rarities, here is a disc of lesser-known but nonetheless delightful music. The various suites and sonatas were composed during a brief flowering of harpsichord music in Flanders during the early 18th century. Interestingly, Ewald Demeyere has chosen not to play all of suites and sonatas in their entirety, but rather to play only the best movements of each work. He gives his reasons for this in his informative essay, which also sheds light on the era and the various composers.
Demeyere gives an excellent performance of this lovely music on an equally lovely harpsichord built in 1747 by Joannes Daniel Dulcken which is at the Vleeshuis Museum in Antwerp. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Clavecin_Dulcken_1747.JPG. Harpsichords can be difficult to record, but Challenge Classics has done an outstanding job capturing this famous instrument's warm, delicate sounds. The recording is superb in both 2-channel and Multichannel.
