I concur with the reviewer below in that this release is very much a success. I spent some time this morning comparing it with the HQCD release, and much as that improved the regular CD, this SACD is even better. As noted by the reviewer, the orchestra is clearer, and the recording has more space around the orchestral sections, but the piano sound is the real gain here. The performances are self-recommending (IMO of course).

It is interesting to compare HQCD and SHM-CD with SACD (and expensive!), as the results are not always predictable. I could start a thread on some of my findings, but suffice to say here that I have not always kept the SACD! As any collector will tell you, all SACD is not SACD, and SHM-CD is a marvelous improvement for redbook-only collectors. But classical releases from Japan come and go as often as releases disappear from the US catalog (if there even is a US classical catalog anymore), and now we have SHM-SACDs and will shortly have Platinum SHM-CDs. I suppose I'll draw the line with SACD until someone can convince me to continue wasting money.

At writing, the only place I could find it was HMV Japan.

EDIT: I should've also mentioned XRCD and SHM XRCD. In some cases, SACD has nothing over them.

It's at every placed linked here on the site.

My mistake. It's not at CDJapan, and when that it is the case I assume it is out of print since they don't seem to carry inventory like HMV and the Amazons. On the Amazons I saw mostly Japanese marketplace sellers with jacked up prices (though Amazon Japan has 1).

CDJapan is the worst possible source for determining the status of a recording.

Well, I've found them to be very responsive, meticulous with their overseas packaging, and very well mannered.

On the other hand, we now have your statement. Very informative.

CD Japan is the one I prefer over the other Japanese sites. And their catalog maintenance is, in fact, quite accurate based on my comparisons.

HMV's stuff too often arrives smashed from the soft envelopes, and Amazon jp is generally more expensive. Just my findings, nothing personal.

The pot calling the kettle black. I agree with Darryl.....NEVER had a problem with CDJapan......I have been placing orders with them since 2004 (when you were in diapers*, SAM) and absolutely top notch service.

{*Time for a diaper change???????}

At least I don't wear Depends, like you, Rammie.

CDJapan may be great (IF they have it in stock), but Amazon and HMV are always better IMO.

Yes but their SACD catalogue is woefully incomplete. They dont even keep an accurate database of domestic SACD releases. But if they have what you want their service, shipping and loyalty system is good and the website is more straight forward to use than other Japan originating web sites. There is no one correct place to buy, it depends.
