Thanks Hiredfox for flagging this survey up. Have gladly completed it. I was happy with the survey, just happy to be able to express and register my full support for SACD as my preferred choice. I don't want BluRay Audio and am not a fan of DVDA so to have a chance to let Pentatone and hopefully other recording companies, if the element about SACD is shared that SACD and listening in surround sound is important to some of us purchasing music and influences how we spend our money and the labels we choose to buy from. For example I have never bought a UMG disc since they stopped producing SACDs (excluding UMG Japan - where I also didn't buy from because of the crazy prices and being stereo only!

Everyone,
Thanks for all that feedback! Your input will definitively help for further developments. Of course it is impossible to ask ALLthe questions we have in mind, but this survey is a good chance for us to get a first overview. Probably we'll manage to integrate a field for general comments within the survey.

The release planning page of the new website is not very helpful.

My first impressions of the new homepage were not very positive either.
Why change something that was both pretty good and informative and worked well for many users ?
I have not seen any complaints here before regarding the old homepage.
But when I tried to open some "read more " teasers on the new one,I only got internal server error, no more!
And yes, as already pointed out,the release planning page is not very helpful and has now only got September.
Are you closing shop in October ???
My advice to Pentatone would be to spend time and energy and effort on recording more music in the highest possible interpretative and SQ instead of unnecessary cosmetic changes to what imo was an already very functional homepage.
If you had added hi res and native dff downloads directly from your own homepage at competitive prices, now that would have been both wanted by many music lovers and truly progressive too.
But as things stand now the old homepage was clearly better than the new one IMO!

And once again,I ask why do you record in DSD but insist on only releasing an irrational and seemingly random mix of low res mp3 and 16/44,1 sprinkled with some hi res pcm as downloads?
You are losing sales from this random and irrational approach.

Ah! One suspects it is a work in progress so it may be wiser to reserve judgement for a while. I do agree with you that the Release Planning section ought to cover the year ahead at least as before, this is information that they will possess as concerts are recorded up to 2 years ahead of release.

There are downsides for them in promising too much of course if something in the process goes belly-up and they can't meet a particular deadline but one would have thought that such risks are small with not very serious consequences from a generally receptive and supportive customer base. It also reassures that the SACD business still has some legs in it.

I for one am anxiously awaiting further information on Pletnev's "Manfred" and the Oregon Vaughan-Williams survey. Waiting for a bus is fine if you know where the darned thing is along its route.

At least for a British English speaker, the use of the term "department store" was confusing. Are we talking concession in something like John Lewis/Debenhams, something like HMV, or something like Bath CDs?

I am waiting to see when the Oregon disc with the Copeland 3 is coming out. In SACD terms, that one is a big deal.
