Are these prices for real!!??

Granted... This is an absolutely incredible performance of one of the greatest composers ever. But... WOW!!

At least the Canadians have got their heads on straight.

The insane prices are all by the same seller. The Used prices (around $50) are more realistic for a rare OOP SACD that is not a highly sought after cult item.

I noticed that, too. But... I had a really good laugh when I saw ¥623,562 (around $6,000). I know Japanese prices are high, but... ha ha ha!!! And I can get it for only half that if I buy through amazon UK... £2,254.00. What a bargain! ;-)

Just a quick warning...bought this title a few days ago through Amazon using the link here and received a RBCD today.

Checked the numbers (serial#, barcode#) and according to these it should be the SACD edition.

barcode# on my copy: 4011222329189

/barcode.php

Perhaps reissued as a cd with the same numbers, this might explain the 'reasonable price'.

The link above to AmazonUK is misleading, as it links to what is clearly listed as the RBCD.

The usual problem. Hybrid SACD goes OOP and is replaced by a CD with the same barcode.

Not when I bought it...also the 'german link' is no longer a sacd link.

Sorry to hear you were not able to get the SACD version of this beautiful performance of Josquin Desprez's music. It certainly would be nice to have more music from this era released on Mch SACD. If you also like Palestrina, Palestrina: Messa per Santa Cecilia - Ensemble Officium is another lovely Mch SACD. I recently ordered it from amazon through this website and the SACD version arrived. It seems they only have a few left, so I wouldn't wait.

In the same order I also got Susanne un jour - Stimmwerck. It's a collection of works based on the popular French chanson "Susanne un jour". The main work is Orlando di Lasso's mass "Susanne un jour". Instead of playing the mass straight through, it has been interlaced with several chansons & instrumental versions by various composers. A beautiful program and performance by Stimmwerck and La Villanella Basel.

Have you had a chance to listen to Die helle Sonn leuchtet - Stimmwerck?? I am most interested in this latest release of Stimmwerck's.
